Heriz is a village east of Tabriz (Eastern Azerbaidjan). That area exports rugs since XIXth Century. Warp is most of the time in cotton, but weft is in wool. Most of the rugs woven in that area are large. The pattern is geometrical, with large areas of the same color. The main decor is the Tabriz medalion. |
